CDF Federation Holds Successful Community Protest in London Against Zimbabwe Constitutional Amendment Bill 3

The CDF Federation on 10 July 2026 organised a peaceful community protest in London to express opposition to the proposed constitutional amendment bill in Zimbabwe and to highlight concerns about governance and human rights.

Protesters raised concerns about corruption, political persecution, police brutality, alleged abductions, and human rights violations affecting Zimbabweans. Participants carried placards and banners calling for greater accountability, respect for constitutional democracy, and the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms.

Speakers at the demonstration argued that the proposed constitutional amendment would undermine democratic principles and called on the Government of Zimbabwe to uphold the Constitution, the rule of law, and the rights of all citizens. They urged authorities to engage in meaningful dialogue and pursue reforms that they said reflect the interests and aspirations of the Zimbabwean people.

The demonstration remained peaceful throughout, with organisers thanking members of the Zimbabwean community, supporters, and human rights advocates who attended. They encouraged continued peaceful civic engagement and called on regional and international stakeholders to monitor developments in Zimbabwe.

The CDF Federation said it remains committed to advocating for constitutionalism, democratic governance, respect for human rights, and justice through peaceful and lawful means.
